Master Philip Baroody Master Instructor / Owner Master Philip Baroody has studied martial arts since July of 1984. He received his Black Belt from Grand Master Jhoon Rhee under the instruction of Master Jeff Smith in June 1986 and has since earned the rank of fourth degree Black Belt. His most influential martial artist are: Grand Master Jhoon Rhee, Master Jeff Smith, Mr. Jeff Green, Ms. Elsa Cordero, Master Danny Boccagno, Master Dhee DeOcampo, Master Ron Jenkins, and his mentor and best friend Master Robert Chung. In 1986 World Kickboxing Champion Jeff Smith made him an assistant to the first "Lil Dragons" Class held in the United States. This class specialized in ages four and five year olds and was unheard of before Master Smith created the concept. In this class he learned his patience and how to mold youth students into life-skills that could be carried outside of the Dojang and into academics and home. As a competitor Master Baroody won numerous local and national championships and was the #1 NASKA rated competitor in DC, Virginia, and Maryland in 1991. His crowning achievement was his two world titles as a member of the "Force One" National Karate Team in 1991 and 1992. Master Baroody participated for several years in "Karate Helps Kick Diabetes", was inducted in the SuperKids Hall of Fame, and was the President of the Washington Youth Foundation a non-profit that taught Tae Kwon Do to inner city children in Washington DC from 2000 - 2007. In addition to being an extraordinary martial artist, Philip Baroody is both respected and recognized for his unique teaching style. He believes that being a Martial Artist is not just about learning how to kick and punch, it is about becoming the best that you can be in every way. His uncanny ability to positively motivate students to achieve their highest potential is unmatched. He provides the classroom with an endless amount of creativity, energy and instruction.
